Program Description

Event Details

“I am an Emeritus Professor of Physics at Ohio University. During the last 30 years or more I have taken several non-credit art courses at Ohio University, the Dairy Barn, the Athens Recreation Center, and in Sun Lakes, Arizona.

“I am visually aware of much beauty in the world. Important to me are the shapes, colors, and compositions seen in nature, buildings, and still lifes. When visiting cities I find visual stimulation from the urban architecture and the art museums. I also visit art galleries in Athens. In the Athens area I like to draw, paint, or photograph the Ohio University campus and the natural beauty of Dow Lake, the Hocking River, the nearby hills, and farm scenes from visits to Arizona and West Virginia. The artwork is done sometimes from direct observation indoors or outdoors and sometimes from photographs I have taken previously. I have done drawings integrating phenomena in physics with art.

“My wish is that my artwork shows the beauty that I see and appreciate every day. May it provide pleasant experiences for the viewers and encourage them to see the beauty around them each day. Perhaps this exhibit will inspire someone to photograph, draw, or paint the beauty found in this area.”
